Ukrainian songs in duets / Christmas carols

This series of collections is dedicated to Ukrainian folk songs and original Ukrainian songs that have become “folk” by recognition and prevalence. This is ukrainian tradition, the priceless experience of our ancestors, engraved in texts and melodies, the support and symbol of our nation’s identity. More than ever before, precisely at this time of ukrainian people’s determined resistance to the shameful occupier, the preservation and renewal of the traditional fund becomes the most urgent goal. This series consists of small releases, covering 3-4 songs from a certain theme: spring and bathing songs, lullabies, humorous, wedding, Christmas songs, etc. This collection is devoted to the most famous Christmas carols, which are arranged and written for a duet of a beginner with a teacher. The student’s part is written out separately for easiness of reading the musical text and is decorated with appliqué. Beautiful illustrations by ukrainian painter Olesya Vakulenko in the spirit of traditional decorative painting add colors and mood to the publication. We hope that this collection and the series as a whole will contribute to familiarizing young musician and teachers around the world with the Ukrainian musical tradition!
