"Catalog of Flowers" - piano cycle for Intermediate Level

This publication continues the artistic vision of the author’s previous collection, Chil-

dren’s Catalog of Birds, which, in turn, is a unique response to Olivier Messiaen’s famous

masterpiece, Catalogue d’oiseaux (Catalog of Birds).

Each piece in this collection portrays a specific flower, accompanied by a witty, light-

hearted riddle-poem written by Mariia Pustovit. Additionally, as is characteristic of the

author’s publications, the book features beautiful watercolor illustrations by Lesia Dub-

ko. While the cycle is tailored for intermediate music students, adult amateurs will also

find these pieces thoroughly enjoyable. The collection offers a rich variety of styles, rang-

ing from classical cantilenas, waltzes, and marches to jazz-inflected pieces, bossa novas,
